NOTICK IS HEREBY GIVEN', That in pursuance of an order of the Board of Commissioners made at the special September Session, 1881, sealed proposals will be received until the second day of tne next session of said Board, being the 6th day of December. 1881, for the erection of a Jail and Sheriff \s Residence, on I»ts Four (4) and Five (5). In Block Ten (10), in the town of Rensselaer,Jasiier Count v, Indiana, According to plana and specifications now on file for inspection and examination in the Auditor's office of this county, to be completed by October Ist, IRB2. Bids will be received for excavation and stone work, brick work, carpenter work.and icon work (including cells) separately ; also forthe buildings completed ; Jhe work to be paid forou estimates made by superintendent at the end of each month, and seventy five per cent, of sueh estimate then paid, and when the whole work is completed in strict compliance witn the said plans and specifications to tire satisfaction ol the Board of Commissioners and Suiierintendent, and all debts incurred by •contractor or contractors paid or satisfied, including labor and material furnished, and for boarding laborers ; the residue of conti act price shall be paid to the contractor or contractors. The contract or contracts will be let to ihe lowest responsible bidder ; but no bid will he entertained unless the same is accompanied by a bond in a penalty of at least •ne-fourth of the cost of the work to be done, signed bv the bidder and at least two resident freehold sureties, guaranteeing the faithful performance of the work so hid for, hi case the contract be awarded, to such bidder and if the contract lie so awarded such bidder shall pay all the debts incurred by him In the prosecution of such work, uicluuTng* labor, tna terials, and for hoarding laborers thereon Bids so be opened on the second day of the December term of Commissioners’ Court, -viz.: December 6th, 18« i. at Two O’clock k m.
