Miss Ida sister of Mrs. [Fred Cole, departed this morning [for Clarinda, lowa, where she will accept a position in the millinering establishment of J. I. Purcupilch Ida carries with her the best wishes of a host of friends. Elmer Dwiggins and Delos Thompson took the train from Francesville yesterdty for Anli Arbor, Mich., where they enter the Freshman class of the Michigan University. Very Sick. —Stephen Hopkins has been dangerously ill with inflammation of the bowels for a week past. Friday of last week it was believed he could not survive twenty-four hours, but a change for the better took place, and we are now pleased to announce he is convalescent* ■ -><«■ ■ ■ -- Vandalism. —Some sneak thieves broke through a window of E. Brown’s merchant tailoring estate lishmertt, Tuesday night, and took goods amounting to about 825. There are several suspicious looking characters about town who will bear watching. The, town should employ a night-watch.
A petition was presented the board of commissioners, Tuesday, asking for the appointment of Wm. B. Austin as justice of the peace; in place erf Amos Seitzinger, resigned.
