Ixo-Quo is being one. of the oldest, welcomes the others. Al. Florence, after studying law with Col. DeHart, of Lafayette, has <jpne west to grow up. He has entered into partnership with one of the legal lights of Bailor, Bates Co., Missouri. Success, Al. May you yet represent the southwestern districk of Pukedom in Congress. Jim MaJby’s mare took first money in the races at Bloomington, 111. ’ Mr. Alfred Thompson has a new phaeton. It is just the kind qf vehicle for a lady. Spring chickens are ripe, and are being sold at twenty cents each. The K. K. K. Troupe realized each performer about five dollars by the entertainment given on the evening of July 4th. Miss Kirk’s class in the M. E. Sunday-school, pie-nicked down t&e nver last Saturday. The ten little boys say they enjoyed the good things to eat. Prof. J. L. Makeever, of Osceola, Neb.,is at home visiting his father and many friends. Mr. Makeever has made quite a reputation as an elocutionist and dramatic reader. Persistent industry has its reward. We hope our people will have an opportunity to hear the Professor while he is with ns. Alvin Clark and Miss Mace King at Rev. A. W. Wood’s last Sunday morning at 6A. M. May their married life be as cloudless as that morning. v* Art Cole has been putting some of the finishing touches on R. 8. Dwiggins’ new brick house. WTW. Reeves, of this place, has soow that knows more about opening gates than, any bovine within our knowledge. Our people are, or should be, interested in the buiMing of a new school house. It cannot be dene with eat money, and as there is none in the treasury and the rate of taxation is low, there will be none very soon. A new school building is needed badly and will be needed much worse- if we-have to wait far one untill the money is accumulated for tl mt purpose by present rate of taxation.
