Pleasant Ridge Items.

Farmers are mowing their wheat Corn is all or nearly all “laid by.” All growing crops would welcome rain. Mrs. Lamburne, • of Abilene, Kansas, and Mrs. Nellie Boicourt, of White county, visited their father, Mr. C. Timmons, last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Kase visited friends and old neighbors at Pleasant Ridge. J. V. Parkinson is in Kansas, prospecting for a future home. The M. E. services at Watson’s school house were not very largely attended last Sunday afternoon, there being only four persons present The half-mile grade in the eastern part of Marion township, needs leveling very mneh. Some of the young people of Pleasant Ridge went to Battle Ground Sunday. They report the excursion an enjoyable affair. The Pleasant Ridge school marina have been fixin’ up and brightening their brains for weeks past, in joyful anticipation of the Jasper County Normal. Aunt Becky.
