Hay is very scarce. Mr.' Leander Jones is very sick. J. F. Bruner and wife have moved to their home one half mile west of Oakwood. Silas Swain reports everything prosperous on the “Bradbury Ranche”; he also thinks that Center school is progressing nicely. W. C. Tyler lias been clerking for his uncle for some time. Billy is p boss clerk. - Miss Flo C. VantWoud has returned to Brooklyn, N. Y. She will be sadly missed by her many frfiends in Keener. D. E. Fairchild has contracted to carry the mail from Keener to Lake Village. We understand that M. M. Tyler will be the carrier. Now is the time to petition for a P. O. further east, soy about Bruner’s store. Rev. Thomas Guild visited his brother last week. It is his first visit to Keener for some time. Dr. Robbins is making extensive preparations for keeping cattle this summer. He expects to have about five hundred head. We think tho county clerk will do a goood business this summer if the jirospect is as good in other townships as this; let him be ready to issue license by the whole sale.
