Walker Items.

The "Old Reliable” hu been laboring under difficultly for the peal two weeks, the prominent one being a felon on his Unger, which he claims to be very painful. Protracted meeting was in progress at the Hershman school house, last week under the superi nlendance of Rev. J. J. Thompson who is an able man and worthy of the praise his brethren give him. He preached a sermon from Job. Ist chap. 12th verse which met the approbation of both saint and sinner.

It has been reported that a prominent member of the M. J£. Church of Keener solicited Rev. Thoa. Markins of our Tp. to assist Rev. John Sebring in l conducting the mooting, (which has been so extensively spoken of by the Keener correspondent,) to preach hell fire so strong that they could small tba brimstone, and from fhd result of tba meeting be accomplished tha object? and mny the effect prove lasting and other townships profit by tha example. We bad the pleasure of taking n ramble through Gilman a few days a g->, and of shaking tha bands of many old friends.
