' I*, was a matter of general information, even before Mr. Cox went away, that Mr. W. 11. Coover had arranged to begin the publication of a piper. Mr. Clark has been employed to take charge of the mechanical part of the office, and now we have a paper, if we may judge from the first issue, that will not suffer in companion with any published in our sister towns, and, in our bumble opinion, the best we ever had. Teachers, we desire to make another exhibit of our school work at the next Annual County Fair. The work done last year and put on exhibition was highly credible to both teachers and pupils. It received deserving approbation from an Appreciative public. There should have been a greater number of schools represented, and it is hoped that all this year will make it a point to prepare something for exhibition. A very scanty display of work, well executed and arranged is much morn credible than nothing. The interest evinced last year in the School Department shows that there is a desire in the public mind to know what the sehools are doing nnd can do. This I believe the schools are eager to demonstrate. The oh. ject therefore is to secure an exhibit from each school, ahd evry pupil should be represented by one or more specimens of written work.
Tne following work is suggested; Geographical Maps, Historical Maps, Grnmatical Analyses, Specimens of Penmanship and Drawing, Examination papers in Arithmetic. spelling and Geography. In fact any meriteduu.- work done by pupils as school work is solicited. Observe the following: Ist. The paper used be the schools of each township should be of uniform size ana i qusl’ty. 2nd .
