Barllnftoa Hawkeys. Richmond is rather older than Burlington—about 220 year older. It is also larger—some 60,000 souls larger. It has ten hills to our four. Now you have a good, clear, comparative idea of the two cities, remembering that Richmond is the Burlington of Virginia. And then they had more trouble ip settling Richmond than they had with Burlington. I don’t know how many Indians they had to settle before they could settle the town. Not so many, perhaps, as needed it. They started early—thirteen years before the Pilgrim Fathers came ashore.
