Kelley returned last Saturday to Rensselaer. Heckraebv wagon all the way from Las Vegas New Mexico. —Mr*. Laura Knecht, of Logansport dropped dead at that place while preparing dinner. The cause of her death was heart disease.

—At Remington last Saturday evening some ryalicioua persons stoned the republican procession, and pretty soriously injured Mr. Murphy of Goodland, oue of Jbe Garfield club of that place. The perpetrators of this act of vandalism ar net certainly known, but suspicion points to the son of a leading democrat as the instigator of the act. One thing is certain itoould not have been done by republicans. No it must have been dono by democrats. With loud blast of trumpliet our democratic friends laid claim, before election, to Lyman Zea as a supporter of their-cause. They flattered them’ selves that he was a man who could be influenced against his'own better judgement But they found to their cost that Mr. Zea was true as steel to the party which stood by the country in her distress and by the result of that terrible struggle. He pridea himself in the flag of his country and believe* that its safety as a national emblem depends upon the success q f the republican party. Such seal and determination as that of Mr. Zea is worthy of high commendation.
