Tape-Worm to Cucumbers.

The dietetic reputation of cucumbers is bad enough already, but it is likely to become worse, now that Dr. Leidy, of Philadelphia, has discovered that they are liable to be infested with tana-worm At a meeting of the Academy of Science, Philadelphia, he exhibited a specimen of tape-worm taken from the inside of a largo cucunjber. It is said to have had all the characteristics of a true tapeworm, but belonged to an unknown species, the peculiarity being that the ovaries, containing the round yellow eggs, are confined to the anterior extremity of the segment. 1
