The Kankakee, 111., Times, heretofore advocating the Greenbaek doctrine** thus declares itself for the Republican ticket:
The great contest is with the Republican and Demooratie parties—we do not expect to carry a single state for Gen. Weaver. Then the question with us is which of the two parlies should win the battle this fall? It assumes a position of grave moment with us, whether the tyrannical South, which tried to rend asunder this Uuion—which abot down harmless and unoffending citizens for exercising the free use of the ballot—which ordered Mr. Randall from their state, and who would to day inaugurate another rebellion, if the Army aud Navy wereiu the hands of the South a* they were in 1861, shouldlhey again get eontrol of the nation.
