grcssional District for Congress and fought Hon. Morgan WVir the Democrat nominee with great-bit-terness throughout and to the close, of the campaign. It may be very desirable to defeat, a Republican candidate for congress, bet it is not desirable to do so at the expense of all principles and by . tricks only practiced by demagogues and political trimmers. It is clearly evident that Mr. Skinner intends to deceive either Ike Greenback or the Democratic party, bat before be does so the*c parties will know whether he sepporm Mr. Weaver For President and eiidorsifs the platform of that party, or whether he will support the nominees of the National Democratic aud Slate conventions. We know whereof we speak when we assure him and his friends that the Dem ooracy us this country and hundreds of Democrats in the district will support no man whose course is calculated to disoigaaise and weaken the party, simply to gratify personal ambition. We do not pretend to speak for the members of the Greenback 4)aUyia-tnU-county, but judging from interviews with their leading men he will find himself mistaken if he expects thtir support while he opposes their.candidate for the Presidency.—Winamao Democrat.
