Miscellneionu Recipes.
While Cup Cake.— Ono and one-half cups of sugar, half a cup of butter, half a cup of sweet milk, whites of four eggs, one cup of corn starch, one cup of flour, half a teaspoonful of soda, one of cream tartar, one teaspoonful K of extract of lemon. Prun« Whip. —Stew three-fourths of a pound of prunes, and sweeten to taste; when perfectly cold add whites of four eggs beaten stiff; stir all this together till light; put in a dish and bake twenty minutes: when cold serve in a large dish and cover with whipped cream. Fruit Cale —One pound of brown sugar, one of butter, ten eggs, one of flour, two of raisins and two of currants, half pound of citron, a nutmeg, a tablespoonful of cloves, one of allspice, half k pint of brandy, two teaspoons baking powder; after baking, pour over the cake half a pint of wine. Green Tomato Pickle.—Slice one peck of green tomatoes, dissolve one pint of salt in water enough to cover them, let them soak over night, then rinse in clear water and drain. ’fake one gallon of eider vinegar, three pounds of brown sugar, cloves, allspice and cinnamon to your taste, and boil slowly for half an hour.
