Alex. Peacock has moved back to the farm. Mr. Shaw, of Remington, is clerk ing for Emmet Kannal. J. W. Duvall wants to bo the Democratic candidate Sheriff. Tuter’s have quite an addition to their store room. They needed it Mrs. Joe Sharp’s love bird has strayed away. It was quite a pet. Mr. Watson is studying law in R. S. Dwiggins office. He is a good student. * The brooders of fine poultry are having poor success this year in this vicinity. Wat Kirk is one of the best looking and most accommodating clerks in town. A picnic party went to Pullin’s bridge last Tuesday, fishing, and had an enjoyable time. Dr. Bitters will read a sermon In the Presbyterian churcb next Sunday. The Doctor is a good reader; There ia a young lady in town who seems to not be able to decide whioh she like* best—Chestnntts or Bitters. Mtll Laßne is the youngest merchant in town.' He attends striotiy to business, has no bad habits and deserves suocess.
George Johnson, of the Monticello Demoorat, was in town over Sundsy visiting friends. He is no longer “Ida Dodge.” Dr. Martin enjoyed a break down one day this week when oat in the country. He borrowed another boggy and came in all right. The directors of tbe Agricultural Sooiety did the right thing by the poultry raisers, giving them nearly twice as large a premium list as last year. > Paris school bouse was struck by lightning tbe last severe storm. They propose to have a better fair than ever, the third week in September.
