SHILOH BATTLEFIELD PARK.
Dedication of Indiana State Monuments, April 6 and 7, 1903. Special Train Leaves Saturday, April 4, From Indianapolis, at 7:15 P. M. The Indiana National Park Commission announces that the regimental and battery monuments erected by the State of Indiana on Shiloh National Military Park, located on the banks of the Tennessee River’ at Pittsburg Landing, will be dedicated on Monday and Tuesday, April 6th and 7th, *9°3, this being the 41st anniversary of this great battle. One or more special trains will leave Indianapolis, Saturday, April 4th, at 7:15 p. m. via Pennsylvania Line to Louisville, Ky., and from there via Louisville & Nashville R. R. to Danville, Tenn., where connection will be made with a fleet of chartered steamboats for Pittsburg Landing. The steamers will be used as a hotel while at the Park, and the $lO 00 we request all to forward to W. W. Richardson, D. P. A. Pennsylvania Line, Indianopolis, Ind., covers your state-room, meals and transportation for the entire round trip on the boat. Your railroad fare is the lowest ever made in any dedication. Here is a week’s outing and everything paid with less cost than you can remain at home, to say nothing of the 1,300 miles of travel and sight seeing in a territory made famous as part of the country’s history. All are interested in the beautiful monuments our State has so generously erected to the memory of the regiments and batteries who fought in this great battle. Ever citizen of Indiana should feel that it is a debt they owe to the hallowed memory of fallen sons to be present on this occasion. To the pride of all citizens of the State, we appeal and ask you to join us. The dedication program will be the best that has ever been presented on a battlefield at the dedication of monuments. Among the interesting features of the trip will be the steamboat ride on the Tennessee River (the Hudson of the Southland) the most beautiful and historic river on the continent. All persons the trip will see that their tickets read via Danville, Tenn., located on the Louisville & Nashville R. R.’ as no arrangements have been made for steamers from any other point. Ample accommodations will be provided for all, Standard Pullman sleepers, chair cars and elegant high back coaches will compose the train. In sending check for SIO.OO for your steamboat accommodations, should you desire Pullman sleeper from Indianapolis to Danville, Tenn., one way, add $2.00 to the cost of your steamboat ticket.
