John Richards had Oscar Peterson arrested last week on the charge of beating a board bill of S2O. The case was tried before a iury in Justice Troxell’s court Monday. From the evidence it developed that the bill had become out-lawed and the justice instructed the jury to bring in a verdict of not guilty, which they did. The Gard fee and salary bill failed to become a law and the county officers will all work at the old salaries except the recorder, who will be allowed a certain'per cent of the fees of the office over a certain amount. This will increase Recorder Porter’s salary about S3OO per year, OStimaing on the present business. Dan Waymire and Frank King have purchased the Kohler blacksmith shop, Glazebrook’s old stand, on Front street. The shop will be in charge of Abe Wartena, an experienced blacksmith.
