SCHOOL NOTES
Items ot Interest Retarding the Rensselaer Public School*
Oka Pancoast is baok in sohool after two or three weeks’ sickness. Spring is here according to the evidence of the high sohool. The biology classes have been out studying the trees, and especially noting the development of the buds upon them. They are also noting what birds arrive from the south from day to day. Numerous insects are found on southern slopes on sunshiny days. Snakes have already been seen, and the “voice of the frog is beard in the land.” Oleve Eger, the “coooonist,” has had several ooooons to blossom already. But of oourse they have been in the laboratory all winter. Representatives of the different classes are now hard at work on orations preparatory to the oratorioal contest in connection with the field meet. Preliminary contests will be held April 10th in each of the classes. Then on April 24th the final oontest to select our representative will be held. The following pupils are writing orations: Cora Dexter, Irma Orossoup, Lizzie Babcock, Park Kelley, Jessie Makeever, Pearl McGee and Elbert Antrim.
