Court Notes.
John Mohler, of Jordan township, arrested a few weeks ago for assault upon bis brother-in-law, and discharged on a technicality, was arrested last week and is now in jail. His trial is set for Saturday. Wempe, the confidence man, will have his trial today. Frank Foltz has been appointed by the court to defend him. A case from Goodland, that of Julia E. Bishopp et al vs. Peter Brook, was tried Tuesday, the jury bringing in a verdict for defendant. The case grew out of a land deal. The case of Rev. Jacob Dyke vs. the Trustees of the Presbyterian church of Remington, was on trial yesterday. Rev. Dyke was employed as minister of the church, as he claims, for one year, but was discharged after expounding the gospel for about three months. He brought suit for the balance of the year’s salary, amountto about >4OO.
