M’DOEL A WINNER.
Monon President’s Coup Gives Men Raise In Wages. Many of the employes of the Monon who were preparing to request a raise in wages in the near future have been in the language of the streets “beaten to It,” by the president of the road. President MoDoel left Sunday night in his private car for Georgia for an extended sojourn and gave orders to increase the wages of several of the company’s employes. What is be* lieved by many to be the best move on the part of the president is the raising of the section men. These men have been receiving $1.25 a day, but will after April 1 receive $1.35 a day. The section foremen have re* oeived an advance of $2 50 per month. Several of the wipers and machinists employed in the round house have been granted an increase. They have been getting 15 and 17J cents an hour, but will in the future receive 17J and 20 cents. —Lafayette Courier.
