FIRE AT SPRINGFIELD, OHIO
New Y. M. C. A. Building and a Large Theater Are Destroyed. Springfield, 0., dispatch: Fire destroyed the new building of the Young Men’s Christian Association, the Fountain Square Theater and several adjacent buildings, causing a loss of >250,000, with insurance two-thirds of that sum. The alarm came from the Fountain Square Theater, formerly known as Black’s opera house. There was great delay in getting water, and soon the theater and the Young Men’s Christian Association Building were in flames.
