Wheat 60c Corn 38c Rye 40c Oats, mixed 27c Oats, white 30c It is reported that Andrew Carnegie has an assured income of $18,000,000 a year. This means $350,000 a week, $48,000, a day $2,000 an hour, $34 a minute and 60 cents a second. By this it will be seen that Andrew is working no great hardship on himself by donating SIO,OOO for a library building in Rensselaer. On a pinch hejoould also pay for its maintenance, also, without going into bankruptcy. Representative Wilson has introduced a bill amending certain drainage laws. It increases the pay of ditch viewers and was introduced at the request of those interested in the proposed Iroquois ditch, in which it has been found almost impossible to secure viewers at the pay provided by law, which is $2.00 per day. This barely pays the expenses of viewers, who, in this case, are secured from other counties, and those heretofore selected, after a few days’ work, have resigned.
