Wesley Price Defendant In a Damaoe Suit for Whipping a Boy. 'S An account was given last week of the fining of Wesley Price for whipping Othel Caldwell. The boy, whose mother is dead, was left in the care of Price, and seems to have been ill treated by Price, who is a resident of Barkley township. The boy’s father has now brought suit against Price for SO,OOO damages on two counts. On one count Price is charged with cruelly whipping the boy, for which damages in the sum of $3,000 is asked. In the second count he alleges that Price poured boiling hot water and hot vinegar on the boy’s foot and leg, causing them to be covered with malignant sores, which is likely to make the boy a cripple for life. Caldwell claims to have already spent SBOO for medical treatment made necessary by the boy’s injuries. He also asks $3,000 damages for these injuries. / Mr. and Mrs. E. L.
