WARNER FOR CIRCUIT CLERK.
Nominated on the First Ballot at the County Convention Tuesday. Charles O. Warner, of Rensselaer, chairman of the county central committee, was nominated for olerk of the oirouit oourt at the oounty convention Tuesday afternoon. The convention was oalled to order by the secretary, C. E. Mills, and W. H. Robertson, of Wheatfleld, was selected to preside over the meeting. Charles H. Peck, of Carpenter township, acted as seoretary. Three names were placed before the convention for the nomination. Union township presented the name ofEstel E. Pierson; Hanging Grove the name of W. R. Lee, and Marion the name of 0. O. Warner. The total number of delegates was 202 and 102 votes were necessary to a ohoioe. Mr. Warner was nominated on the first ballot by the following vote. Warner 103 Pierson 83 Lee 16 At the olose of the convention Hon. M. L. Olawsen, of Indianapolis, made a stirring speeoh which was listened to with rapt attention. The nomination of Mr. Warner made it necessary to select a new ohairman of the county oentral committee and at a meeting of the committee O. E. Mills, of Rensselaer, was ohosen to take his place. This rendered the secretaryship vacant, and Mose Leopold was chosen to take the place of Mr. Mills.
