Rensselaer Journal, Volume 12, Number 18, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 9 October 1902 — CONVENTION CALLED. [ARTICLE]
CONVENTION CALLED.
To Nominate a Candidate for Clerk of the Circuit Court. Owing to the mistake of the framer of the law extending the terms of certain county officers so as to make the terms begin in January, in which he designated the clerk of the oirouit court as oounty clerk, it lias been deemed wise to make a nomination for the offioe this year in this county and many others. This is done on the advice of the Republican and Democratic state chairmen. A call for the reassembling of the old county convention has been issued, as will be noticed elsewhere, and a candidate for this office will be nominated in Rensselaer next Toes day afternoon. So far there are three candidates in the field, O. O. Warner, of Rensselaer; W. R. Lee, of McOoysbnrg, and Estil E. Pierson, of Union township. Owing to the limited time at their disposal, the candidates are wasting no time in making their canvass.
