JACK YEOMAN MISSING.
Leaves His Home In Oklahoma Under a Cloud. A. J. Yeoman, better known as Jack Yeoman, a former sheriff of Jasper county, who went west a number of years ago, leaving a number of creditors here, has disappeared from his Oklahoma home, after raising considerable money in a questionable way. A dispatch from Guthrie, Ok., under date of September 23, says: A. J. Yeoman, living near Kremlin, Ok., one of the best known and wealthiest cattlemen of northern Oklahoma, has disappeared. It has come to light that he had mortgaged everything he possessed and in addition, it is reported, much that he did not possess, leaving his creditors badly in arrears. Two weeks ago Yeoman is reported to have driven a carload of cattle from near Ames to Isabella, where they were shipped to Kansas City. Since that time nothing has been heard of him except that he left Kansas City for Colorado after disposing of the cattie. Some of his creditors recently became suspicious and began an investigation. He had been given permission to feed near Ames and Watonga, although his home was in Garfield county, and to Ames the creditors went to look for the cattle. The first on the ground were representatives of the First National bank of Enid, and H. H. Watkins, cashier of the Enid State bank. They were able to find a few cattle to make good their losses in part. The other creditors so far as known will get nothing. The records show the following chattel mortgages against Yeoman in Garfield county: Bank of Kremlin $ 400 00 J. C. raddock 172 00 Firt National band of Enid 7000 00 R. M. Brenton 4 g 2 00 C-I. Riggs 114900 H. M. Watkins 6000 00 L. E. Martin 6000 It is reported that the same property has been mortgaged in Blaine county and possibly in Woods. Mrs. W. A. Huff is visiting in Craw - fordsville.
