Central Committee Meets.

On call of County Chairman Warner the Republican central committee met last Saturday for the purpose of transacting certain business. John F. Pettit, of Walker township, was selected in the place of Edward T. Biggs, of Wheatfield, as a candidate for county councilman at large, the latter having declined the nomination. Owing to the probability of haying to elect a clerk of the circuit court this year, the county chairman was given authority to call the delegates together who served at the last county convention to make a nomination for clerk if it should become necessary.
