NEWLAND.
A. B. Dunfee and John Richmond were in Rensselaer Saturday evening on business. Quite a number from here took dinner with J N. Baker and family Sunday.
Nearly everyone that went to Monon to work on the stone road came home Saturday night to stay. They say they can’t make any money at the price they pay. Mr. and Mrs. John Halloday, who have been visiting Owen Callahan and family for the past two weeks, returned to their home at Chicago Sunday. H. D. Pcrkey and son, president of the shredded wheat biscuit company, of Niagara kalis, N. \., visited T. M. Callahan on Thursday of last week. Barney Newland visited A. B. Dunfee Sunday. ° ®- J- Giflord loaded a four room two story house on the cars here last week and hauled it to Gifford, which was a pretty big undertaking. Jake and Fred Wall will move to Kentland Monday and work in a saw mill. We wish them success as they are nice boys. Two families from Lee will move here this week and work on the railroad. m. Bums, of Valma, was a Newland visitor last week.
