The Iroquois Ditch.
The necessary number of signers to the Iroquois citch petition and bond having been secured, it was presented to the commissioners Monday. Robert A. Lowrie, former surveyor of White county, has been selected as engineer. The names of Joseph Clary and James Jones, of White county; Mr. Putman, of Pulaski county; Jerome Biddle, of Benton, and J. R. Quild, of Medaryville, were suggested by the petitioners for viewers. The commissioners at the time of putting this in type had not yet given a decision in the matter, but some of these men, if net all, will be selected for viewers. To assist the viewers a committee of 10, one from each station, was selected at Saturday's meeting, to assist the viewers. They are: Station 1, Clarence Clemens; 2, O. C. Halstead; 3, S. P. Thompson; 4, Jas. McClanahan; 5, D. H. Yeoman; 6, Thos. G. Redgate; 7, Granville Moody; 8, Patrick Halligan; 9, Walter Shedd; 10, B. P. Ferguson. The ditch is not to exceed twentyone miles in length. The bond of the engineer is placed at |6,000.
