COMMISSIONERS’ COURT.

Much Ditch Business Being Trans- . acted. The county commissioners have been in session this week and owing to the large amount of ditch business before them their session has been a busy one. Two bridges were ordered advertised for in Carpenter township and one in Keener township. The contract for poor farm supplies for the coming quarter was awarded to John Eger at $93. George A. Strickfaden was granted a saloon license in Rensselaer. In the application of Jesse Nichols, superintendent of the gravel roads, to condemn a gravel bed, Lyman Barce, Ben Harris, Sr., and John M. Wasson were appointed viewers. The following road and ditch business was transacted. David Miller et al petition for highway. Daniel E. Fairchild, Jacob Ilaan and Samuel F. Smith appointed viewers. Henry J. Gowland et ai petition for ditch. Examined and approved. Robert Zick et al petition for ditch. Report examined and approved. Granville Moody et al, petition for ditch. 8.. J. Gifford flies written motion to have the report referred back to the viewers for further investigation and correction of any error chat may appear. Motion sustained. Geo. W. Warren et al, petition for ditch. George Hayes flies answer to remonstrance. Frank Parker, M, H. Hemphill and Robert White appointed viewers. John W. Hutchinson et al, petition for ditch. John C. Vanatta flies remonstrance. John F. Pettit, William D. Meyers and John O’Connor appointed viewers. Carry Lowman et al petition for ditch.
