NEWLAND.
We don’t need any more rain this summer. Mrs. A. B. Dunfee spent the Fourth with relatives at North Judson. IT. E. Gifford and wife spent a couple of days at Kankakee, 111,, last week. Nearly everybody from here went to Kniraan the Fourth Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Chess Castor, Saturday, a girl. Mother and child doing nicely. Frank Archer will move to Gifford one day this week. Oscar Russell, who has been visiting friends at Lamb returned the Fourth. He brought back with him ioo pounds of home grown tobacco. John Akers is carrying the mail this Week. Vance Collins was a Newland visitor a couple of days Jast week. E. B. Knickabocker and wife spent ihe Fourth at Bradley, 111. B. T. Gifford began building another big dredge boat Monday. Joe Haddock and Mr. Comer were at Rensselaer on business Thursday. Charles V . Bussell, of Della, was a Newland visitor one day last week. .
