A Deplorable Accident.
A Lowell subscriber sends ns the following account of the death of Ed Greisel, a former resident of DeMotte, but for the last nine years a resident of Pawnee, Oklahoma: A deplorable accident occurred at the home of Will Greisel last Saturday night in which Edward Griescl, ft young man of ai, years *b.ot and killed himself? The young man was found Sunday morning by a man who was passing by. He was guarded by a faithful dog, which had watched over his body since the night before, and would let no one come near him. Edward was living with his brother at the place near Bryan. Will and his family spent Sunday near Skeedee visiting and Edward was left to look after the place. As well as could be ascertained from the positions of the gun and the body when found, the young man had been shooting crows. He haa killed one which had been hung on a clothes line, and the gun was discharged either when he was setting it back in the shed where it stood on taking it out again. He evidently drew the gun toward him by the barrel and the hammers caught on the edge of a board, discharging the loads into his stomach, He ran about 60 feet and fell dead. The young man was about 21 years old, having been bom in Lake county, Ind, Feb. 23,1881. He was a son of Dan and Elizabeth Greisel. The family is one of the most highly respected in the county. The funeral was held at n a. m. Monday at the Greisel place a mile and a half north of Pawnee. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. A, R, Grant and a quartette of singers from Pawnee sang. The attendance at the funeral was large, a great many from Pawnee attending.
