Kankakee Region Flooded.

The extreme heavy rains of the past month have caused the Kankakee river to break its banks, and the result is that thousands of acres of that new and fertile land is now under water. Illinois people, who have so extensively invested in this land and have looked forward with great expectancy are becoming sadly discouraged as it is now doubtful if they will be able to realize any crop from the land this season at all. The river is now the highest known for fifteen years at this season of the year.
