Arrow Shots.

I shot an arrow into the air, It fell to the earth; I know not where. —Longfellow. Men say they are satisfied with you if you vote only for the best men, but they are not content with that. They also want to select the “best men.” When old men become childish they are apt to talk abont how they used to go “sparking.” We discover that almost anybody thinks he could run a hotel. Every time a hotel changes hands the boarders say it has been improved. Hypocrisy is detestable in young and old alike. The biggest corn stalk does not always have the biggest ear. We always admire an old man who thinks that he holds his age well. The man who is of the least importance is usually the one to make the most fuss when he has to wait in the barber shop. We are never sorry for a man who loses a rate sheet for life insurance that he meant to give us. Whenever there is an amateur show in town you can see lots of girls dressed in white, wearing long cloaks, dodging through the alleys.
