Blaekford.
The heavy rains last week drowned out the potatoes and corn on the muck ground and the crows and moles destroyed considerable on the dry ground, causing farmers to replant. Where there is corn it is growing fast. Mr. Scott and G. B. Switzer’s went to Rensselaer last Monday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Nooks, of Dew Drop, visited at E. C Switzer’s last Sunday. Nearly everybody here went to the Sunday school picnic at Parr last Sunday. Master John and Miss Clara Switzer visited their grandparents Monday. Mr. Benbow was in this vicinity last week taking orders for Kirk’s store at Parr. Willis Hurley has his new house done and moved into it last week.
