Mrs A. B Durfee and Cassie Akers did shopping at Rensselaer Saturday. Owen Calahan hauled a load of flour from Rensselaer to Newland Saturday. A. B Durfee, Bert Camp, Barney Newland, Earl Newland, Ed Kerts and Jesse Green went to Rensselaer Thursday morning and did not return until Saturday morning. They surely must have had a good time. T. M. Calahan and H. E Gifford made a business trip to McCoysburg Thursday. Bert DeMoss worked for Joseph Haddock this weejt. T. M. Calahan and H, E. Gifford have purchased a lot here and will build an implement house on same 20 x 40 feet and they will engage in the implement business. They expect to have the new building completed this week. Loss and Jasper Pass, of Gillam, were Newland visitors Saturday. William Long spent Decoration day in Medaryville. Charlie Smith, of Giftord, will build a store at Pleasant Grove and move his stock of merchandise there. The lumber is on the ground.
