Something of the Landis Brothers.

Now that Fred K. Landis is about to break into congress from the Eleventh district it is of interest to know where his brothers have landed. Kenesaw M. is a prominent attorney in Chicago, where since his being private sec:etary to the late Judge Walter Q. Gresham, he has resided. John H. is a leading surgeon in Cincinnati, and is less known in this part of the state perhaps that any of the other brothers as he has not mixed in politics as they have. Walter K. has been a newspaper correspondent to a number of leading papers and has won a wide reputation from his experiences in Porto Rico, where he is now postmaster. Chas. B. of Delphi is congressman from the Ninth district and since his term began has made a number of speeohes that at once gained for him national reputation as a speaker. Fred K. is the youngeßt of the brothers, being less than thirty years and makes his home in Logansport where he engaged in the practice of law. Like Senator Beveridge, Fred owes his rapid rise in public view by reason of his oratorical ability in which he is an acknowledged leader. As the Eleventh district is strongly republican he has bright prospects of being the next congressman. The democrats can only hope to reduce the majorities in the six counties, because of the most remarkable political battle in the history of Indiana poli tics, at the convention at Wabash last week.
