Rensselaer has observed another memorial day. In the city all business was suspended during the afternoon that the day might be properly observed. In the morning the graves of the departed soldiers were decorated by Guthridge Post G. A. R. and the Women’s Relief Corps. In the afternoon the regular program was carried out. At 2 o’clock the procession moved from the publio square to the cemetery. It consisted of the the Citizens’ band, pupils of the public schools, the Ladies of the G. A. R., the Rensselaer lodge Knights of Pythias, Co. M., Third Regiment, I. N. Q. f old soldiers and citizens. At the cemetery the exercises were carried out at the new stand near the entrance to the cemetery. Geo. A. Williams, of Rensselaer, made the address of the day in a very able manner, and it was the subject of much favorable comment. The program was carried out as previously published.
