Blackford.
Farmers are plowing their corn grounds and planting potatoes this week. The recent fire has chased the blue racers that escaped burning up into the fields and near the houses. Uncle J. S Switzer is on the sick list this week, and able to be around but very little. E. C. Switzer and wife visited Willis Hurley last Sunday. Mrs. Sutton, of Fair Oaks, visited Scott’s last Sunday. Mrs. E. A. Switzer visited the preacher’s family at Brushwood last Saturday. Cap. Payne’s marriage has made other Methodist preachers think they ought to follow his example. The hunters should be careful how they trespass on enclosures and shoot our song birdsand rob their nests.
