Swindling Farmers.

Farmers and everybody else should be very careful what they sign when solicited by strangers, especially so when these strangers are offering them a “soft snap.” Here is a sample of one these snaps: A stranger offeree to make a farmer agent for his township to sell a washing machine. The machine sells for $6, half of which* is profit for the farmer. The obliging agent simply asks that he pay him ten dollars for the township right after he has sold $276 worth of machines. The farmer agrees to the easy conditions and signs the following contract:

The dotted line is not in the con tract when signed, but it shows where the swindler clips tne document in two. One end he throws away and the other is a straight note, which in the hands of innocent third parties, makes the farmer lots of trouble before he gets rid of it.
