New Castle Booming.
Newcastle has a commercial club that is accomplishing much for that city. New factories are being located right along and the city is on a boom. J. F. Osborne, who is now located there, in writing to have his address changed, says: “I mail you this date three half sheets of the Daily Courier, which will give you some idea of what New Castle is doing for herself this spring. There were sixty five houses built here last season, but that will be only a small item of what will be done this season. When we moved on our place last fall there was not a lot platted south or east of us, and now they are platted, and streets located for a mile south, and over two hundred have been sold, at prices from |2OO to S3OO each. Every body is busy, and more help needed. If there are any idle carpenters in Rensselaer, and they want a job, tell them to come to New Castle, as there is not half enough here to do the work.” Tho same result could be accomplished right here in Rensselaer if our moneyed men would act, but there is a sentiment here against donating funds for factories and the prospect of securing them is not encouraging. William Arnold, of Bloomington, was caught between a train of Monon cars and a shed last Thursday and was rolled about twenty feet through a space of six inches. A number of his ribs were broken and he was injured internally so bad that he died the next day. He was unloading stone at the time of the accident.
