A NEW COMMISSIONER.

Charles T. Denham AppointedCommissioners* Court Notes. The county commissioners met in regular session this week. Charles T. Denham, the Republican nominee from the third district, was appointed to fill the vacancy from that district caused by the resignation of Commissioner Way mire. Henry Hildebrand was granted saloon license for Rensselaer. S. L. Lnce and 0. M. Blue, trustees, petitioned for new bridges in Keener and Marion townships. Continued. Austin O. Moore ind others petitioned for a gravel road in Barkley township. The proposed road is to commence at the west end of the Gillam road and to follow the old Francesville road to Grooms’ bridge. John Hudson, Andrew Hick and John Wilson were appointed viewers. Editor Babcock asked that taxes recently paid by him into the county treasury, be refunded. The petition was taken under advisement. The report of the poor farm superintendent was approved. It shows receipts for the quarter of 1349.26; expenditures of 1631.23. Number of inmates of the farm, 10. The following other business was transacted: Wm. B. Blankenbaker et ai. Petition for highway. David Culp, W. R. Shesler and J. W. Turner appointed viewers. Daniel S. Makeever et al, petition for ditch. Ordered established. T. J. Sayler & Co. were allowed $6,208.54 in payment of the brick street improvement. Henry Wagner et al, petition for highway. Ordered established. Wm. Nuss et al. Petition for highway. Ordered established. Joel F. Spriggs et al. Petition for highway. Ordered established. Robert Parker et all Petition "for vacation of highway. James F. Irwin, Jay W. Williams and James A. Burnham appointed viewers. Wm. P. Baker et al. Petition for ditch. R. B. Harris, Wm. Hoover and L.
