Pickle Factories Located.
The Keokuk Pickle Co. has purchased the old canning factory at DeMotte, which has lain idle for some time and will erect additional buildings and run a pickle factory on a large scale, pickling both onions and cucumbers. They have also made arrangements to erect a factory at Thayer, work on which will commence at once. No bonus was required to secure these enterprises but the farmers bad to agree to put out 150 acres in cucumbers and Unions. This only required each farmer to put out a few acres, from which they should reap a large profit. A similar, offer was made to Rose Lawn, but so far the necessary acreage has not been subscribed.
