Blackford.
Good Friday potatoes are not growing very fast and early vegetables are scarce. G. B. and E. C. Switzer are keeping bachelor quarters and learning how to cook. Their families are visiting at Watseka, 111. Jim Frost is on the sick list again but is not in danger as long as he gets plenty to eat. Postmaster Hurley, of Blackford ,is some better and is able to get in the store and office occasionally. Baker has taken his engine and mill home again. If he had remained longer more locs would have been hauled in. Huckster wagons are numerous in this vicinity, gathering hen fruit and anything else they can find. A number are having lagrippe and rheumatism, but nearly all art better. The weather is so unsettled’that no one feels well.
