SCHOOL NOTES.
Vacation days are over, and we are on the down grade toward the long summer rest. Cora Dexter entered the eighth grade Monday. Verne Sayers, who was sick the last two weeks before vacation, is back in school and frisky enough to perform his part in the entertainment Friday night. Desna Cowden, who spent the vacation with her parents in Logansport, returned Monday. The High School Athletes have been given permission to use the stock farm grounds for practice work. The alumni of the High School are forming an association, which it is hoped will benefit both the school and the alumni. A meeting for completing the organization will be held Wednesday, 8 p. m., in the east court room. Everything is in readiness for the public entertainment of the High School literary society, Friday eve ning. The best musical and literary talent of the school has been selected. A good entertainment is assured. The opera house ought to be packed, and from the advance sale of tickets, the prospects are good, that it will be. The proceeds of the entertainment, you know, are to be used in purchasing a piano.
