Everybody is working their onion ground this week. Church will begin at Gifford Monday night and contiuue all week. Wm. Collins and wife were at Winamac Thursday on business. The dredge had a break down Thursday, which laid lbein up a couple of days, but they have repaired the break and are running again. Mr. Johnson, of Zadoc, is here this week building a chimney. J. A. Walburn, who is carpenter here, went to Raub Saturday to visit his wife over Sunday. He returned Monday. Guy Bebbee, P. M. at Gifford, was here on business. Three young fellows from Tennessee were here Saturday looking for work. Ben Clouse, Master Mechanic of the C. W. V., was here this week repairing pumps. Owen Calahan was at the Hub Friday on business. Ivor McCormick, of Chicago, came down Saturday to visit bis wife a couple of days. They expect to begin house-keeping here just as soon as his term of school is finished, which will be about the first of May. Mr. Wallace, of Laura, is trying to have a post office established at that point.
