Fnir Oa/cM. Prepare for Easter John Liggett spent Sunday at Thayer. • Mrs. Cottingham was at Chalmers last Sunday. */ Chas Gundy is building .1 new barn near his ice house. Only two more weeks of school after this week. Jack Kight attended a big horse sale at Cambridge City, Ind., last Tuesday. Ray Thompson, of Rensselaer, was here last Monday looking for ducks. James D. Babcock, Republican candidate for county treasurer, was in town last Monday. A good many people are moving these days Miss Idel Street, of Buffalo, White county, is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Udorus Cottingham. Mr. McCullough, of Ancona, 111., was the guest of Miss Blanche Dodge a few days last week, returning home on Monday. N. A. McKay went to Kirklin, last Sunday, having been called thereby the death of a sister. Mrs R. O. Graves, of Morocco, spent the past week with relatives and friends in town, while Mr. Grave's was out in Oklahoma on business. Postmaster Thompson has succeeded in having the allowance for separating and handling the Coal Road mail, including registered matter, in transit, increased from S4O io S9O per annum. A welcome raise, but not commensurate with the work to be performed. There is one closed pouch too, and one from each of the following offices every week day, viz: Mt. Ayr, Foresman, Knimarf and Virgie ' Married—At the residence of the officiating justice, Squire S. M. Lamoine, on Wednesday, March sth, at 10 a. m , Mr. Albert Rowen, a well known young farmer of Newton county, and Miss Myrtle Odle, daughter of Daniel Odle, trustee of Colfax township, Newton county. This was Mr. Lamoines first marriage ceremony since his appointment as Justice. Immediately after the mairiage the bridal couple at once repaired to the home of Grandma Manderville, where an elegant repast was spread for them. Their friends wish them much joy and happiness
