AMrr. Mrs. M. B. Alter, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Kannal, Mrs. H. Gamble, of Rensselaer, and Mrs. W. W. Watson, of Chicago, visited Dr. Kirk and wife Sunday. Mrs. T. F. Warne is able to be up the most of the time again. Mrs. Isabell Price is rebuilding her house to take the place of the one lately destroyed by fire. Mr. Alfred Randle transacted business in Parr Monday. Alva Stephenson had bad luck Monday going to Rensselaer. He smashed one buggy wheel. Isaac McCurtain, of Fowler, visited his mother Monday night. We understand that there was a fellow from Parr went to Rensselaer Thursday and they got right after him for playing poker. If they would get after a few ’ more of them it would be better, I expect W. L. Wood went to Lafayette on business Monday night. Mrs. Ed. Leach visited her sister, Mrs. Parker, in Barkley township, Thursday. There is a young lad in our neighborhood who is in the habit of slipping out at night with a gun and scaring the children that he sees passing the road. I expect you had better not do this any more; some one might scare you. Everybody from Parr has been courting for the last two weeks. Jno. Hardesty is back from the Lafayette Soldiers’ Home. He is visiting J. H. Conway. J. C. McColly is back completing Jessie Jenkins’ house, which he commenced in the fall. There will be another law suit in Squire Fay’s court Saturday. Oliver Robinson, of Rensselaer, was a caller in our town again Saturday. We do not know who he will be after next. We understand our saloon has changed hands, it being sold to a man from South Chicago. They are talking of building an addition to the pool room ard putting in some extra beds for those that want to stay all night and get an early start next morning. Mrs Sarah Petitt, of near Wheatfield, visited her daughter Mrs. S. A. Brusnahan, last week. Ocie Wood was quite sick Friday and Saturday, but is better at this writing. Dr Ira M. Washburu was called to PanMonday to see E. J. Stutzman, who has been sick for several days. Rev. Meads preached at the Parr Chapel Tuesday night Quite a number of our young people attended the dance at Evert Warne’s Friday night. All report a good time and will go back again Saturday night. Mrs. H. M. McCarthy has returned from her trip to Mexico, where she has been visiting her husband The Brusnahan and Lakin hog case is creating some excitement around Parr this we k
