SCHOOL NOTES.
Tuesday, the Junior class in a body, attended the funeral of Mrs. Elias Hammertoq, mother ofLemmuel, one of the Junior boys. Their floral offering was a pretty’ token of affection. John Ellis has sufficiently'recovered from his coasting accident, to be back in school. Ida Nowels leaves the High School this week for her new home at Flora. We are loath to have her go, but since she must, we can but say that the school at Flora is to be congratulated in securing Ida as a pupil. Miss Thompson, of Delphi, spent Friday and Saturday with her uncle, Mr. Neher. The High School entertainment has been arranged and the date set for April 11th. There will be music for the music-lovers, recitations by the best talent in the pity for those who like recitations, and a “play,” which .has made a “hit” wherever it has been given. It will please all. Supt. Sanders went to Chicago Tuesday to attend the Superintendents’ Association. Mr. Clifford Dayton, of Chicago, and Miss Carrie W. Woodworth, of Rensselaer, were united in marriage at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Woodworth, on River street, last Thursday evening. Rev. Ed Meads, of Rensselaer, officiated. The ceremony took place at 8 o’clock in the presence of about 100 guests. A wedding supper was served after the ceremony. The display of wedding presents was extensive and valuable. Mr. and Mrs. Dayton departed Friday for Chicago, where they will make tbeir home. At the residence of the officiating clergyman, Rev. T. A. Hall, Sunday morning, the marriage of Mr. John P. Merritt and Miss Evalena Hickman took place. The groom is a clerk in the grocery department of the Chicago Bargain Store, while the bride is a trimmer in Miss Meyer’s millinery store.
