Jim Hemphill, of Danville, 111., and little daughter, visited his mother here this week. The ten year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ropp, north of Pleasant Grove, died last Saturday. Jacob Wright, now an employe of the Michigan City car shopp, is visiting his relatives here. Mrs. A. Lynn, after a visit with her daughter, Mrs W. H. Parkison, re turned to her home in Attica Friday. About twenty-five members of the Masonic order attended a banquet given by the Monticello lodge last Friday. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Alva Snow, of Barkley township, last Friday morning, but died the same afternoon. The wisdom of those who failed-to clean the snow from their sidewalks has been d?monstra'ed, as the sun has at last done the work for them.

Silas Swain, a former resident of this vicinity, but now living in the west, is the guest of R. W. Marshall. W. B. Austin has sold his fine residence on River street to Dr. S. C. Johnson, who will occupy it in a few days. G. G. Brown, who has been living near Sharon, moved to Plymouth last week, where he is interested in a feed barn. The pastor and wife will entertain the menyiers and frie ids of the Methodis/church at the parsonage on next Friday evening. Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs Carter Garriott, near Aix, and to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hamacher, of Union township, Tuesday.
