Republican City Calls.

The Republican voters of the City of Rensselaer, Indiana, will meet in mass convention at the Opera House, on Wednesday, March 26, 1902, at 7:30 P. M. for the purpose of nominating candidates to be voted for at the City election to be held May 6th, 1902, for the following offices: 1 City Mayor, City Clerk, City Treasurer, City Marshal. By Order of the City Republican Committee. 11. J. Kannal, Chairman. George E. Murray, Secretary. The Republican voters of Rensselaer will meet in ward mass conventions at the Court House on Friday, March 28, 1902, at 7.30 P. M., to nominate candidates to be voted for at the city election to be held May 6th, 1902, for the following offices: Two Councilmen for the First Ward. Two Councilmen for the Second Ward. Two Councilmen for the Third Ward. The places of meeting in the various wards will be as follows: Ward One in the ladies’ waiting room. Ward Two. at the Sheritl’s office. Murray, Secretary. • In Chicago it has been decided 4 to cut the salaries of the school teachers 9 per cent. It wAuld b- better if the perquisites of political hangers on could be cut about 99 per cent. It is a bad sign when a city economizes in exactly the wrong place.
